The month of June is celebrated worldwide as LGBT Pride, and as such, Waze Boy welcomes George to its platform for a Pride Month adoption. With the latest Waze update, you can hear Boy George’s voice directing you to places in your car while sharing advice with you in his own way.
In a blog post, the Waze team wrote:
As a music and fashion icon who has represented for decades what it means to live authentically with no excuses, Boy George uses his signature voice to create not only instant classics but also passionate songs that shed light on the movement to secure the rights and freedoms of the LGBTQIA + community around the world. And now, for the first time, he’s using that recognizable voice to navigate Wazers while driving, giving us all a chance to feel what it’s like to have Boy George in the front seat.
There’s a little more to it than that. Boy George has also curated a new Pride playlist on Spotify for customers to stream through the Waze music player. It has a variety of artists including Boy George himself, George Michael, David Bowie and so on, which makes it easy to enjoy a fabulous ride with some music icons.

In addition, Waze will add new moods and vehicles to the app. There will be two new navigation vehicles, Ca-ma-Chamelon and Goldsmobile. You can also choose between piquant, spicy, bizarre or unusual moods in the app. It might not be as helpful as Google Maps’ new locator for businesses with gender-neutral toilets, but it’s still a fun way to celebrate Pride.
The Boy George Experience will be available on the Waze App between June 2nd and June 30th. It can be downloaded on any of the best Android phones.
