The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G was reportedly spotted on a Geekbench list indicating that the phone could run on the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. There were a few more possible spec details about the upcoming rumored phone. The Galaxy A22 has surfaced in leaks and certifications suggesting the phone could be launched soon, and is expected to hit shelves in India as well. Previous leaks and rumors suggest that Samsung will offer a 4G and a 5G version of the Galaxy A22. Additionally, renders of the Galaxy A22 have also surfaced online, showing a triple rear camera setup and more.
A Samsung phone with the model number SM-A226B was discovered on the Geekbench benchmarking website and shows some of the specs that can be expected from this phone. It is delivered with Android 11 and is operated with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC (MT6833V). It is listed with 6 GB of RAM. It is believed that this model number belongs to the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G. The phone scored 562 in single-core and 1,755 in multi-core tests.
The Geekbench list was first discovered by SamMobile. Gadgets 360 was unable to independently verify this.
In addition, alleged renders of the Samsung Galaxy A22 were shared via Voice by Steve Hemmerstoffer (@Onleaks), which shows a notched display, triple rear view cameras, a 3.5mm audio jack and a thick chin bezel. The phone is expected to come with a 6.5-inch display and measures 167.2 x 76.4 x 8.7 mm. The renderings were first discovered by MySmartPrice. Gadgets 360 couldn’t check them because of changes being made to the Voice website.
The Samsung Galaxy A22 has been in the news for quite some time, dating back to January last year when Samsung reportedly branded nine Galaxy A-series phones, including the Galaxy A22. In December of last year, a 5G variant of the Galaxy A22 should then hit the market in the second half of 2021 for 2,000,000 KRW (approx. 13,300 Rs.). In March of this year, it was announced that the Galaxy A22 would be offered in two RAM and storage configurations, as well as four color options, including gray, light green, purple and white.
In the same month, the phone was equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera on the back, as well as an 8-megapixel secondary camera and two 2-megapixel sensors. On the front, the phone is expected to come with a 13-megapixel selfie camera. More recently, the phone was reportedly discovered on a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) listing that suggests an Indian launch. The Galaxy A22’s design was recently leaked from alleged case renders showing a notched display and quad rear camera setup.
Samsung has not disclosed any information about the Galaxy A22 and it is unclear when the phone will be de-cover.
