After announcing the launch of a new Android phone in India last week, Redmi confirmed today that it will launch the Redmi Note 10S in the country on May 13th. The Indian variant of the Redmi Note 10S is expected to be largely identical to the global variant that debuted in Europe in March.
The global Redmi Note 10S has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution and a centered hole cutout for the 13-megapixel selfie camera. The Redmi Note 10S is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G95 octa-core processor with up to 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.2 storage.
In the camera department, the Redmi Note 10S has a quad camera setup on the back with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The light stays on a large 5,000 mAh battery with the same charging speeds of 33 W as the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. The Redmi Note 10S also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP53 water resistance, two speakers and a 3.5 mm -Headphone jack. On the software side, MIUI 12.5 runs based on Android 11.

The Redmi Note 10S is rumored to be priced at around £ 12,000 (USD 160) in India for the base 6GB / 64GB version. In addition to the best cheap Android phones from Samsung and Realme, the phone can also cannibalize sales of the vanilla Redmi Note 10, which starts at £ 12,499 in the country.
