Realme hosted a product launch conference today that showcased the highly anticipated realme GT Neo smartphone. The device happens to be the first smartphone to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 processor. In addition to the smartphone, Realme also presented the Buds Air2 ANC headphones for the Chinese market.
The Realme Buds Air2 TWS earbuds were first introduced in India in February of this year. The device uses a similar design language to the Buds Air Pro, which was first introduced in October 2020. The specifications of both earbuds are also similar.
The earbuds, like most high-end earbuds that have hit the market recently, feature ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). The earbuds can reduce external noise by up to 25dB and filter out most of the low-frequency noise.
As an added bonus, these truly wireless earbuds support low latency mode for gaming sessions. When enabled, this mode reduces latency by up to 88 ms, making it suitable for gaming. It also comes with support for ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) for calls. Using dual microphones on the two earbuds also makes it easier to make clearer calls.
Additionally, the Realme Buds Air2 uses a custom R2 chip that extends battery life by 80% and reduces latency by 35%. They are each equipped with a large dynamic 10mm unit and a diamond-like flagship membrane. Compared to the conventional diaphragm, the earphones offer a richer bass, a clearer sound and a better frequency response.
In terms of battery life, the Buds Air 2 offers 5 hours of playback time on a single charge. With the charging case, the headset has a battery life of 25 hours. After all, 10 minutes of charging should provide 2 hours of playback, while a full charge of the TWS takes up to 2 hours.
You also get intelligent touch controls, Bluetooth 5.2, and two-channel transmission capabilities. The earbuds also support IPX5 waterproof protection, making them suitable for training.
The Realme Buds Air2 will retail in China for 299 RMB (~ 45 USD). This is similar to the Rs. 3,299 (~ $ 46) price tag that it takes on in India. The earphones are available in Closer Black and Closer White.
