OnePlus 9R receives an OxygenOS update that contains a hotfix for a battery drain problem introduced by the previous update. The last OxygenOS update for the cheapest smartphone of the OnePlus 9 series caused an abnormal battery discharge of the smartphone. The OnePlus 9R OxygenOS update was released last month in India and was bundled with the May 2021 Android security patch along with camera, gallery and system improvements. OnePlus recently also updated the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro with the security patch from May 2021 via the OxygenOS update.

OnePlus announced the hotfix in a post on its community forum, saying that it fixed the abnormal battery drain problem caused by the previous update of the OnePlus 9R. The new OxygenOS update indicates that smartphones now consume less power in certain scenarios. The changelog also mentions fixes for ‘known issues for a better experience’.

The hotfix update for OnePlus 9R affects users who updated their devices to OxygenOS last month. Although you will receive a notification when the update arrives for your device, you can update eligible handsets manually by going to. walk Settings> System> System Updates> Download and Install. The update is not bundled with an Android security patch and is 106MB in size, according to a user post on the community forum. As usual, the update for OnePlus 9R will be rolled out gradually, starting with a limited number of users, and will soon have a wider rollout.

OnePlus 9R specifications

OnePlus 9R, which was launched in March 2021, runs with OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11. The smartphone has a 6.5-inch Full HD + OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is powered from a Snapdragon 870 chipset, paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage.

The OnePlus 9R’s quad rear camera is overwritten by a 48 megapixel primary sensor. Other sensors are a 16-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. Selfies and video calls are processed by a 16 megapixel sensor. The smartphone has a 4,500 mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 65 fast charging.
