A new report from MacRumors says this year iPhone 13 models are slightly thicker than their predecessors and also have relatively larger camera bumps.
The iPhone 13 Pro will come pretty close to the iPhone 13 Pro Max in camera specs
The camera bulges on the new phones are expected to be visibly thicker compared to the current models. The iPhone 13 Pro will have a 3.65mm thick camera island and the iPhone 13 will have a 2.51mm thick bump. For the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, these values are between 1.5 mm and 1.7 mm.
The iPhone 13 Pro is also expected to have a significantly larger camera hump. The current models have a bump that is roughly 28mm x 30mm and the size is reportedly going to increase slightly to 29mm x 29mm on the iPhone 13. It is also moved one millimeter closer to the top.
Increasing the dimensions of the camera bump can also lead to the repositioning of other elements such as the volume button and the side and mute buttons. More precisely, they could be placed a little lower.
iPhone 13 rumored specs
According to previous reports, the new models will have smaller notches than the current variants. Despite these changes, the overall picture won’t look much different from the iPhone 12 if there are any signs of leaks.
