Earlier this week, suspected CAD-based 3D renderings of the iPhone 13 (via MySmartPrice) went online. And if Apple’s current product philosophy comes into question, the iPhone 13 Mini will also follow in the footsteps of the vanilla iPhone 13. Now the folks at Svetaapple.sk have created lifelike coloured Renders of the iPhone 13 Mini give us an idea of what the device might look like.
Over in the front we can see a smaller notch (just like Kuo had predicted)This was also hinted at a few weeks ago by leaked images of the iPhone 13 series front screen. Apple reportedly rearranged the Face ID sensors to make the notch tighter. As a result, the front camera has been moved to the left while the earpiece is now on top.
However, the more noticeable design optimization seems to have been made on the back. At the beginning, the two camera lenses are no longer aligned in a straight line – an arrangement that we saw with the iPhone 12 and its mini sibling. Instead, The two camera lenses of the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Mini are now positioned diagonallywhich actually looks better in my opinion. The two cameras will likely use 12MP sensors in a familiar Wide + Ultra-Wide configuration while the A15 Bionic SoC keeps things moving inside.
The rest of the design language remains unchanged. You get the familiar flat sides with sharp edges, a flat plate on the front with evenly slender bezels, and a shiny back that’s held in place by a metal frame. According to leaks, Apple will equip the iPhone 13 Mini with sensor-shift image stabilization technology that was previously only available for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 Mini could be the last of its kind, however, as TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts Apple won’t launch a “mini” phone in 2022.
