Apple released iOS 14.6 for iPhone 6s and later, bringing with it some new features that were announced at the company’s April event. It includes the Apple Card Family, Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, AirTag-related changes, and more. iPadOS 14.6 was released along with the same changelog. Apple released iOS 14 to the public last September, and the rollout has been quite effective over the past few months. According to recent reports, iOS 14 runs on over 90 percent of all active iPhone models.
iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6 are the latest versions of Apple operating systems for iPhone and iPad models. The new operating system has some of the features that the Cupertino giant described at its Spring Loaded event in April. iOS 14.6 brings the Apple Card Family to iPhone models. With the Apple Card Family, users can share their Apple Card with up to five people via a family sharing group. This allows families to keep track of expenses, build credit, manage expenses, and more.
With iOS 14.6, users can purchase a premium subscription within Apple Podcasts through Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. You can subscribe to channels or individual shows and receive benefits such as ad-free episodes, additional content and early access to episodes or exclusive series. The prices are set by the creators of the podcasts, who can also offer free trials. In India, the premium subscription to Apple Podcasts costs Rs. 1,799 annually.
Additionally, iOS 14.6 users in lost mode can add an email address instead of a phone number or an AirTag and Find My Network accessory. AirTag does not display the full number when typing with an NFC-enabled device. Those who use voice control will be able to use just their voice to unlock their iPhone for the first time after a reboot.
Finally, the iOS 14.6 update fixes issues like unlocking with a not working Apple Watch, blank reminders, missing call blocking extensions in settings, bluetooth issues, and slow performance at startup.
