The late 1970s and early 1980s were the best times for those who love TV show theme songs. Those were the days when a hit show’s opening theme could run for minutes, hit the Billboard charts, and even found itself in rotation on your local top 40 radio station. Perhaps one of the best examples of this comes from the short-lived sitcom Angie with Donna Pescow from Saturday Night Fever and Robert Hayes from Airplane.
But what if watching a show’s theme song is excruciatingly long or boring and takes away the joy of watching a show? The video streaming app Hulu understands this and has added a “Skip Intro” button to its Android app. Hulu can already be found on its website and some smart TV platforms, and it is now offering the same convenience to its subscribers with an Android device.

We cannot give Hulu full credit for offering the Skip Intro button on an Android streaming video app, as the Android apps Netflix and HBO Max both include such a button. We wouldn’t be surprised if other streaming video apps were to add a similar button soon either.
