Fun Google Translate Tricks to Try in 2021!

Array

Google Translate has been around for a long time. And while there’s no denying that it can be of massive help, did you know it has a humorous side to it too? In fact, over the years, many people have discovered different ways that Google Translate can be used to tickle your funny bone.

While there have been some fun Google Translate tricks in the past, many of them have been the result of bugs and algorithm problems. However, more than a decade since Google Translate was first introduced, many of these older tricks have been “fixed” as the algorithm became more accurate over time.

But then there are some old ones that haven’t been fixed yet – and we’ll start with one right away!

Google Translate is still having problems with Thai

An example of an old Google Translate trick that hasn’t been fixed to date in 2021 is using Google Translate to translate a series of long Thai characters. You can now try this trick by clicking this link. The final translation has absolutely nothing to do with the text. “Business Hospital” how really ?!

Google Translate can add whatever accent you want

Did you know that Google Translate is pretty good at adding fairly accurate (and sometimes stereotypical) language accents? This is actually quite simple. Just enter a text or phrase you want Google Translate to “tell” you and choose a source language of your choice.

For example, type “what the heck is going on” into Google Translate, select the source language as Italian (or any language of your choice!), Then click the “Speaker” icon. You will now hear Google Translate pronounce the sentence out loud with an Italian accent. I’m more in love with the sound of the French Google Translate Lady! Of course, this trick doesn’t work well with languages that aren’t too well known for their accents or that have a completely different sound.

If you feel like having even more fun, why not try some famous English tongue twisters and hear them with different accents!

I would start with:

How much wood would a woodchuck use?
What if a woodchuck could throw wood?

Trust me it’s fun!

Let Google Translate say anything you want

Let’s say you’re bored at work but have limited access to incredibly great sites like ours. What can you do to pass the time? Why not try typing gibberish into Google Translate and see what noise your computer is making? It is fun! It’s stupid! And this has been done to death a million times, and yet it’s still as fun as it was a decade ago!

Google Translate memes are one thing

Note that some of these “tricks” no longer work, but not so long ago. Google Translate memes were one thing, and social media was lit up with multiple posts from people posting results of hilarious Google Translate errors.

For the uninitiated, it was back then that people opened up a Google Translate page and picked a great moment in pop culture, drew an iconic line from it, and let Google read it in both English and the translated language. You can listen to some examples Here, and Here.

Do you have any other examples of funny Google translations or Google translation jokes that we may have overlooked in this list? Let us know in the comments below! In fact, our comments section already has some fun tricks – but some of them are really old and may not work in 2021.

But why not give it a try?
