We are only a few days away from the next Apple event. Cupertino sent out official invitations last Tuesday, April 13th, announcing to the world that its Spring Loaded event would take place on April 20th. There is no official confirmation of what we can see during this event, rather a well-known leaker has just shown that an iMac update can be part of the show.

According to L0vetodream, Apple’s new Spring Loaded event will give us a redesigned iMac with multiple color options, or at least we think so. He recently tweeted the logo of the upcoming event and a photo of the colorful G3 iMac range. In other words, this information would confirm previous rumors provided by another known source, Jon Prosser. He reported that upcoming iMacs would come with multiple color options to choose from, with at least some color inspiration from the G3 iMac range.
Earlier rumors also suggest that the new iMac range will have its first major redesign since 2012, making it look more like the Pro Display XDR. This means we could also get narrower side bezels and no chin, which translates into larger displays than the current 21.5-inch and 27-inch models.
Now we have one more reason to believe we’re getting an iMac update soon. It seems that the standard 21.5-inch model is becoming increasingly scarce for both 4K and non-4K options in Apple stores in the US. These items are listed as unavailable for pickup, with customers waiting around a week to run out. More powerful configurations are even harder to find.
We know that Apple has already discontinued two configurations of its 21.5-inch iMac, which means we could soon see them being updated. Best of all, these new PCs supposedly come with a new Apple silicon chip too. So if you are planning on getting a new iMac for yourself, you should wait a little longer.
