The Asus ZenFone 8 series will be unveiled worldwide today, May 12th, at 7 p.m. CEST (10:30 p.m. EST) in a virtual event that will be streamed live on YouTube. The ZenFone 8 series is expected to include two models – the vanilla ZenFone 8 and the ZenFone 8 Flip. It should be noted that the company has not yet confirmed the models. It used to be expected that the series would also include a ZenFone 8 Mini, but it seems that the vanilla ZenFone 8 and the supposed ZenFone 8 Mini are one and the same thing.

Asus was expected to launch the ZenFone 8 series in India alongside the global launch. That won’t happen, however, as the company has announced that it will delay its launch in India due to the ongoing pandemic and wait for the current situation to improve. Asus ZenFone 8 series price (expected)
A recent leak suggested that Asus ZenFone 8 could be offered in three storage configurations – 8 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 256 GB, and 16 GB + 256 GB. The base model is expected to be priced at EUR 700 (approx. Rs. 62,370), the 8 GB + 256 GB storage model is expected to be priced at EUR 750 (approx. Rs. 66,900) and the 16 GB + 256 GB model is expected to be priced at 800 EUR (about Rs. 62,970) approximately Rs. 71,300). The prices for the ZenFone 8 Flip are currently unclear.
Asus ZenFone 8 series specifications (expected)
Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip are expected to run on ZenUI 8 based on Android 11. The ZenFone 8 may have a 5.9-inch Full HD + Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass protection. On the other hand, the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip is expected to have a 6.67-inch Full HD + AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Both phones are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with up to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage.
For photos and videos, the Asus ZenFone 8 can include a triple rear camera with a Sony IMX686 primary 64-megapxel sensor, a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor, and a macro lens. There is a 12-megapixel selfie camera on the front of the phone. The ZenFone 8 can contain a 4,000 mAh battery with 30 W fast charge support. The ZenFone 8 Flip could come with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel macro shooter. The ZenFone 8 Flip’s camera module is expected to be motorized and can function as both a front and rear camera.
Connectivity options for both models are expected to include 5G support, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and FM radio. The phones should have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
