Apple Music is preparing to launch new “lossless” layers of audio 9to5Google. The feature was previously hinted at for the iOS version of the app, but the Android version will apparently get this feature as well.
According to the Apple Music Beta for Android, two levels of lossless audio are started in the app: “Lossless” at 24 Bit / 48 kHz and “High-Res Lossless” at 24 Bit / 192 kHz. Both use Apple’s ALAC codec.
In its current form, Apple Music only offers two options for audio playback. “high efficiency” for reduced data usage and “high quality” for better playback with higher data usage. According to 9to5GoogleApple also includes the following data warnings for lossless playback:
Lossless streaming uses significantly more data. A 3-minute song is approximately: – 1.5 MB with high efficiency – 6 MB with high quality at 256 kbps – 36 MB with lossless 24-bit / 48 kHz – 145 MB with lossless Hi-Res at 24 bit / 192 kHz
The support varies and depends on the availability of the songs, the network conditions and the speakers or headphones connected.
When you incorporate high fidelity music streaming into the Apple Music app, the platform can rival some of the best music streaming apps on Android Amazon Music. Spotify has also announced HiFi audio playback for its platform, although it is not expected until later this year.
VPN offers: Lifetime license for $ 16, monthly plans from $ 1
If Apple releases lossless audio anytime soon, it could coincide with the alleged launch of new AirPods, which are expected to arrive on May 18th. Interestingly, this is the day Google I / O is expected to start in 2021, so Apple may be trying to steal some of Google’s thunder, especially since Google is said to be launching its own lower-cost Pixel Buds A at the event.
The Apple experience on Android
It’s just as good, maybe better.
Apple is one of the pioneers in portable music playback and is bringing this know-how to its Apple Music application for Android. It offers a similar monthly price as many other streaming music services and has high quality audio playback that can be quickly streamed from devices like Google Audio.
