Android 11 tracker: List of smartphones on which the Android 11 update should be installed

Array

Android 11 highlighted various improvements in privacy, improved integration with connected home devices, and new communication features, including the now native option in Android for floating chat bubbles.

It should be remembered that although the rollout for a model may have begun, regional differences and even adjustments by mobile operators can delay or even cancel the update for certain models.

Update – April 13th: Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e, Motorola One Hyper, LG G7 One, Oppo A91, Oppo Reno 2 Z, Nokia 8.1, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 2.3 have received the Android 11 update. LG announced further models that will receive the new system.

To find out whether the update is already available for your device, go to p.Settings> System> Advanced> System Updates> Check.

Google

Unsurprisingly, Google, the developer of the Android operating system, also made sure that its smartphones were the first on the market to receive the Android 11 update – which will be available right on the launch day of Android 11. In the case of the Pixel, Google made sure you still had installation options, either through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by downloading and installing system images using the ADB tool, which is primarily aimed at developers. Google’s models that have already received the update to Android 11 are:

Samsung

Despite the obligation to update its flagship models in addition to the offer for three operating system updates Samsung is not one of the fastest manufacturers to release such updates. Nevertheless, it is praiseworthy on the part of the South Koreans to have already released Android 11 – together with the One UI 3.0 skin – for its main 2020 versions and even some 2019 versions:

Models to receive the update

Samsung has published a schedule for the release of Android 11 in the Samsung Members App, which includes models that have already received the update, as well as other smartphones in their inventory that should receive the new OS version before 2021 ends.

So far, the company has made the update available in advance for some smartphones from the previous list, but there is always the possibility of delays.

Xiaomi

The introduction of exclusive models for some markets and the constant exchange of names – including the use of titles that represent completely different models depending on the country of release – makes it difficult to keep up with updates from Xiaomi and its “independent” brands.

In addition, the MIUI skin update is independent of the operating system. These factors can further delay the release of Android 11 for smartphones depending on the country.

Motorola / Lenovo

Since Lenovo bought Motorola, the frequency of system and security updates for Motorola smartphones has deteriorated in terms of speed and consistency. The older mid-range models usually get new versions before newer or more advanced devices.

Interestingly, that is The official list published by Motorola includes the Lenovo K12 but does not mention the Legion range of gaming smartphones.

LG

The South Korean company has released a schedule of updates to Android 11 with a few models, omitting several basic and intermediate smartphones that were launched in 2020, such as the K62 and K92 models.

After the announcement of LG’s exit from the smartphone market, the brand’s support website in South Korea released additional models that should also receive Android 11. The company does not always distribute its system updates for a device in all markets, so the availability of the region is monitored here in particular.

Huawei and honor

In the case of the Chinese manufacturer and its previous subsidiary, it wasn’t until the release of AOSP (Android Open Source Project) that they had access to the Android 11 source code that failed to adapt EMUI 11 to Android 11, making smartphones that both companies run still on Android 10. Usually the skin corresponds to the operating system version.

Additionally, Huawei has focused its efforts on HarmonyOS, and everything seems to indicate that the brand’s devices will not receive the 2020 edition of Google’s mobile operating system.

OnePlus

With a relatively small selection of smartphones, the list of OnePlus phones running Android 11 is pretty simple and to the point. According to the main developer of the OxygenOS skin, the manufacturer is still Investigating the possibility of bringing Android 11 to the OnePlus 6, 6T, Nord N10, and N100 devices.

Since then, the company has announced the Xperia Pro, which will also receive an update soon. It is worth remembering that the company left Brazil in 2019 and therefore no new models were launched in this part of the world.
