Amazon’s Android app is receiving a much-needed UI update

Many people have opinions about the Amazon app and are rarely positive. The app is functional and has everything you need to do it, but the layout leaves a lot to be desired. A new user interface has been around on iOS for a while, but according to Android, it seems that Android devices are finally getting the chance to experience it Droid life.

Finally, with the updated UI, the Amazon app removes the hidden sidebar menu and uses a bottom navigation bar. In the bar there are various tabs for the start screen, your account, your shopping cart and the menu. It’s a much better experience, and makes it easier to access key app elements, especially now that many of the best Android phones are larger and more difficult to use with one hand.

The new UI also extends to the Whole Foods and Fresh sections of the app, including changing the font to include larger text in certain app elements. These sections also look much more nuanced than before, with more distinctive branding and color schemes. This makes Whole Foods and Fresh feel like their own apps and look cleaner overall.

It’s unclear whether the new UI is tied to a Play Store update or a server-side switch. However, it should be introduced on Android devices. So keep checking that you haven’t received them yet. Now you can enjoy the new app while you go to Amazon to buy the new OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro!
